The first clip from Pedro Almodóvar’s short film The Human Voice with Tilda Swinton was released. The Human Voice made its world premiere at 77. He’ll do it at the Venice Film Festival.

Master director Pedro Almodóvar, who spent the quarantine process at his home in Madrid, wrote Daily essays and shared his experiences and feelings during the pandemic, while evaluating the time he spent at home working on his new projects.

As the first steps towards normalization began to be taken in Spain, the master director returned to the sets and began to implement these projects he was working on during the quarantine process. Almodóvar, who recently announced that his next feature film would be Madres paralelas with Penélope Cruz, previously shot the short film The Human Voice.

Adapted from Jean Cocteau’s one-act play, the Human voice is starring Tilda Swinton, a successful actress who has faced moviegoers in different roles.

Almodóvar makes his debut in an English-language film with the Human Voice. The veteran director had previously announced that the film would be about 15 minutes long. But information later shared by The Film Stage showed that the film would be about 30 minutes long.

First staged in 1930, the Human Voice focuses on a woman who talks to the man she loves for the last time on the phone and tries to convince him not to leave. Almodóvar, known for his admiration for this one-act play, wrote Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown inspired by the Human voice.

The Film has its world premiere next week at 77. He’ll do it at the Venice Film Festival. Tilda Swinton, who stars in the film, will be given the Golden Lion as a Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival.
